Dear Friend,
We come to you today with a matter that is extremely important to the people in our community as well as the many transient people who come to us from across the country. These precious
people desperately need our support, care, and hope while facing overwhelming and life-threatening circumstances. Thank you for faithfully praying and supporting the Garden City Rescue Mission and Life Development Center in Augusta, Georgia, that has been offering services since May 2001.
The matter I bring before you is urgent! Please help us Rescue our Mission! We have enjoyed a wonderful partnership with a rent-free lease for the past 22 years. Because of a change in the family dynamics, the owners have decided to sell. To avoid the tragedy of closing down our ministry, we have been granted the opportunity to purchase the property for $495,000 with a 120-day window to raise the funds. This is a daunting task . . . but GOD! First and foremost, we are praying diligently and asking God to meet this need. We are immediately launching an emergency fundraising campaign to purchase the property and building which sits on nearly one acre of land in the heart of downtown Augusta, Georgia. We are calling this campaign, “Rescue the Rescue Mission.”
The Mission is a life-changing station that provides hope, help, and a safe housing environment for nearly 400 different men off of our streets annually. We provide physical needs daily, making people feel important, wanted, loved, and safe. We have Chapel services every night pointing people to Jesus. We also provide a life-saving ministry seeing men freed from addictions in our long term recovery/discipleship program. With Christ all things are possible and we are claiming this promise. We desire to continue to provide hope and help as we did in 2022: 130 salvations, 80 rededications, and 35 men who now love the Lord, enjoy permanent housing and hold good jobs.

We are asking for your help. Will you pray and ask God what you can do to help Rescue the Rescue Mission? We have seen God move and answer prayers for so many who come in and out of the Mission doors. We know and believe that God can supply the need this time. The Garden City Rescue Mission is a 501(c)(3) ministry and your contributions are tax- deductible. Donations can be made out to Garden City Rescue Mission. Please assign your donation to “Rescue the Rescue Mission”. Any funds raised over the needed amount will be used in the daily ministry of the mission. In the event that unknown factors detour the purchase of the property at our current facility on Fenwick Street, all funds will be used to move the mission forward under the leadership of the board of directors.
